That`s an excellent first spacescape! Is the planet modelled on Jupiter? Looks just like it. Texture is fabulous , you have got the clouds looking spot on. The one thing that spoils it though is the shadow. You seem to have used a linear gradient. Try using a radial one instead. After all, planets are round so the shadow will be curved as well. Apart from that it`s great. Nice subtle effect for the background stars and clouds . Compliments the planet perfectly. Nice one.

Oh yeah. That planet is quite realistic. Maybe just a little bit dark, but the patterns and colors resembles Jupiter well.

I'd like to say that your planet looks pretty real, just like from a photograph. Your work with the fractals is pretty cool, too. Overall, really nice outcome with all your images.

The spacescape/planetscape is awesome. Ha ! I knew Goonie would know how to do the shading on the planet ! When we talked about it, I didn't know. Now I know his secret ! <insert evil laugh here> Now I can rule the solar system ! Of course, I love the fractal possum. It is so very very cool ! How in the world did you get it that shape ? ? ? ?  Was it the possum plugin.
 I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
