Sure...assuming I can remember how I did it the first time
Here are some notes for myself and anynoe interested, while I'm thinking about it:
I know I made the base for the blade in halves...one side was flat, and the other side I cut out with the ellipse tool. Duped the layer, flipped it and lined them up, then adjusted the brightness for the look of a shadow, then merged them and applied a gradient fill and curves to mettalize it.
The finger guard was a black rectangle plus a little octagonal reshape (duped, flipped, and joined).
The hilt was a rectangle filled with a linear gradient plus curves to mettalize, then a tan rectangle with oblique copied and pasted a few times on top and trimmed square at the ends. Applied unfocus to the tan padding to soften the edges, and merged it with the metal hilt, then applied a linear gradient in an overlay.
Added text in a rune-based font in red, duplicated the layer and darkened the text to black, then glowed the red layer and merged the two. Duped that text, flipped vertical and horizontal and positioned them on the blade.
Applied a few glows to the blade, flattened all of that down to a single sword, rotated it, and added the gradient background.
Whew! That'll be a big tutorial when I do it.
My favorite one of these is still my BarkBark00 tribute signature. I'm really pleased with that shotgun shell and the embossing.
