Looks like a polar inversion/ twist combo, no idea how to replicate it in PDN though. :? Pretty amazing.

I was definitely impressed...that's one of the slickest images I've seen in a while.

I wonder if Pyro or boltbait or madjik could plugin-ize an effect like that ("diminishing twist")?

Ash, what do you think?

I believe anything can be done by hand. :)
It seems to be a gimp plugin from reading the comments. :?: :?:

I will give it a shot when I have time :)
Would be much faster if a plugin for PDN can be made :D

One more....

There is already a tut out (kinda, the basic idea was there) . Guess who wrote it? Me...
The answer was under my nose the whole time...
I need to find a better way before I can really make a tut for this.
It's hard to tell users to make adjustments by hand.
Because the plugin. "Oct/Quad Reshape/Matte" is without any numbers for settings. Hint hint :)

1st real try:
made from this:
http://www.vavros.wz.cz/cd-r/CD-R%20Samsung%2048x.JPG

into this:
Image
the polar t orect reversed it and the rect to polar again added the weird edge.

I don't understand what you mean by reversed it? But quite close :)
Here is my result using that CD image.

Exactly, but for some reason it was reversed when I used polar to rect. I'm doing it a whole different way. I just wish that the edges wouldn't stretch so that it would look more professional.
Actually for my way it is all about getting the angle right.

That's one of the limitations of Rect to Pol.....
If you don't want the edges looking like that,
either...Crop the image after you finish,
or Crop the image before you use Rect to Pol
