Anyway, im trying to make myself a signature for this Call of Duty i use. My username is Mcromley and im trying to put my username and GT on this sig. I basically wanna crop this photo that i attached and put him to the left of my sig. But im still a bit confused on what i should make the base or render [whatever you wanna call it]. Any ideas.

Rectangle Select the parts you want, Crop to selection.
Then resize the image to you liking.

Please use photobucket or the likes next time, and use clickable thumbnails.
Code: Select all

You just want the person? no background at all?
If that's so, search for "cutting out image" on the official PDN forum.

Ash, I think that may help me too.

I wanted to do a chrome gecko but using the magic wand was only partly effective. When I finished the metal & feathered, there is a faint line just off the gecko. Would the cutting out image give me a better result?

I'll try it & post results later. :D

Try to use the line tool to trace around the gecko (on a new layer) and when you are done, magic wand inside the line, and then go to the gecko layer, ctrl+I, and delete. Feather the gecko until it's smooth with the background. That's one method to cut out an image.
