Wonderin if yall could point me towards a tut how to make text like Goonfella did on post two of this. You will have to scroll down to see his post http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/t ... rome-text/Not the wet floor,,,just the chrome looking letters. Or maybe something better you may know of a tut. I tried it a few times but only got close.. Again I seem to be missing something. I'm thinkin it may be be those are older versions of PDN and the settings have changed. ...or operator error. Thanks alot

Personally, I find Sargon's Glass Text to be the easiest method to make a chrome text. On one of the steps, probably near the end, open up Curves (or Curves+), and play with the setting.
There are two method for the wet floor reflection. One of the most obivious is the Wet Floor plug-in, when you get ready to do that, make a selection below the text, and run the plug-in. Another method is to duplicate the flattened layers, flip it, move it below the text, and use transparent gradient.

No one thinks your rude Martel - not yet anyway It was some time ago when I did this one and I don`t have the file anymore but I have just had another quick go at it and from the looks of things I would say the Bevel Selection settings need increasing a bit (step 6) , giving the text a more rounded appearance . It seems a bit flat to me. Remember that settings don`t have to be exactly the same as the tut. They are just a guide so adjust your own accordingly.

Well done Martel. Glad to help. You should try it with a thicker , more rounded font though. This tut seems to work better on those . The shininess is just a case of playing around with Curves . Maybe even try something that is not in the tut - like using the Metallize plug in. It`s always just a case of experimenting until you get what you are after. I have often changed the settings in a tutorial to make an image look the way I want it to.

Pretty good effort with the shine Martel. Another thing to try is the Brightness/Contrast in Adjustments. Welshy's tutes on Trail Rings might be useful for the layer blend modes. Also take a look at the Shiney Disks one too. We are all still learning. Some things we master & we then share with others but we are ALL working on perfecting something.
Knowledge is no burden to carry.

Thanks Barbieq, That brightness contrast really worked. I am still working on the trail ringsAlso trying other fonts per Goonfella. (going to combine that with the Trail Rings tut). Feels great to finally move forward. Thank you all! . . EDIT Could use some more advice tried the curves and brightness on this one, maybe too wide of letters
