lemme guess: S3D cube map, one wall at a time?

edit:
well i was off...
nice idea, i wouldn't have guessed you'd use dice map.
just curious... how long did it rake you to figure out where each wall went?

Great tutorial Sargon. Got to have a go at this. :D
The way you set out the room before S3D is a bit like Ash`s tut that shows how to put an image on each side of a cube - only better (sorry Ash! :wink2: ).

:shock2: Wow! I'll look it into detail a little later, but I saw your tutorial and I'm in awe. Your ideas using S3D are amazing.

@ Leonte, you were so close anyways :). Well I actually I didn't spend even a minute to figure that out, because I already knew that from the plugin pages, you can visit the pages in MKT 's Website, and just click NEXT you will see a decent explanation for the plugin and all its possibilities, I think in the 6th or 7th page he is talking about the Dice Map of the box option.
@ Goonfella, thank you mate, as I was explaining to Leonte, it is really not easy to understand all the textures and effects of this plugin, I don't know if Ash have figure it out by himself, but truly I can't without the help of the plugin's website.
@ HELEN, thank you, I am glad you like it.

Just had a proper look through his website. Thanks for mentioning it. I never realised it was there!
Shame it`s mostly Japanese but it is still worth the look. The part about the lighting - phong, isotropy, anisotropy etc- was particularly interesting as these are settings I have not paid that much attention to up to now.

This should be stickied, it's a very excellent tutorial and very useful to know.

Just my 2 cents. :d

I really enjoyed this great tutorial Sargon, for which many thanks. You are so talented and must have an engineering mind in order to master the intricacies of the Shape3D - most of which is "gobbledy gook" to me

Just two areas where I had trouble.

1. I was not sure which section of "ceiling/floor" to cut out for a see-through door/window.
2. I could not figure out how to find the correct setting for "Rotate Axis-2" in order to 'twist' the room.

Edited: photos now on Photobucket.

Pixey, looks great!

Sargon, I wonder if we could translate it with BabelFish - available trough Alta Vista?

Will try it later.

Pixey, make sure you are using an image hosting website, Photobucket or ImageShack, instead of attaching your picture to the post.

Yes, I was - now that is a great idea. I'll have to install it. Using Firefox at the moment. Thanks for the tip!

You can get it translated in Firefox by Google searching the website's URL.
When the search results come up, click on "Translate this page".
