With this tutorial you can make shapes like these: Required plugins- Download the PDF file from the attachments below: And also you can find the XML zip file of the Shape 3D plugin in the attachments, use it to render the shape of the sphere. Hope you will like it

niecly done Goonfella, actually this tut lends itself to a more symetrical base. If you check my example I'd have to really fiddle with the xml settings to get the orbs positioned correctly to have the floor reflect into them in a truer manner. I'm going to give this one another kick at the cat with a symetric floor as its more effective and I'm just not up to doing all the manouvering to get asymetrical done correctly at the moment. and your shadows look better than mine. I think I transparent them too much.
ciao OMA

I didn't know that you will like this tutorial this much, it was a straightforward, no enough effects there just to show the way of doing the reflections that requested by HELEN, but you guys took it to a higher level, great work all of you, I am glad you like it.

Well I think all of the tries are winners. I am amazed how we all come up with such different ideas from one tute. I tried this one once before & failed miserably. Tonight I needed to do something for me & give my poor brain a rest from the recent events. Here's my effort. Thanks, Sargon! Brilliant tute!

I finally made a go at this tutorial the image is in my gallery. I have also suggested to lance that he sticky this tutorial because it is great and it is also very explanatory and it shows some good techniques.
