This is an image I`m working on at the moment. The terrain was made in Terragen, then loaded into PDN where it was extensively modified. The asteroids are stock , but the moon and stars are 100% PDN.
I added the Enterprise as I went to the Jersey Air Display this afternoon and managed to get a good photo of it. (if only! :lol3: ). It is of course just a stock image which I had on the laptop so I thought I would have a Moon Display, I don`t intend to have it in the finished image.
I just thought I might pick your brains for some ideas of what to put in the image to finish it off. It is the area where the ship is I am most concerned about as it does seem a bit empty. I can`t make up my mind whether to add a nebulae, a large planet or moon or something else.
Here is the WIP -

I'd go with a large planet. I played around with this a bit and this is what I came up with:

This is the composition you have now. There are a lot of distinct elements, but nothing to tie them together:

Add a planet however, and you have something which overlaps all the elements, bringing a 'wholeness' to the work over all. Not to mention creating a strong triangular composition:

I also noticed that the ring overlaps one of the stars:

So maybe you can add a lens flare there to fill in the middle a bit, and create a bit more lively composition:

That's just what I'd do. Hope it gives you some ideas! :D

I like your ideas Ben. It takes the eyes for a "walk". This is something Pixey struggled with too - as we all do from time to time.

A great WIP, Goonie!

Thanks Ben. I can see the image evolving with each step. That`s been a great help. I`d thought of doing a ringed planet but not close up like yours, which I think would look much better.

Glad you like the WIP Bbq. Hopefully it will be even better when it`s finished. :D

I saw your result and it was magnificent. Gosh, going into so much detail gives me a headache.
