will i return?

Yes, the time has come my old and new friends. I may be returning to pdn as a break from ps/ai/id in my spare time. If i do id love to hear from you all. Be well and hope to see you soon! ----------------------

Hey all, well i thought i would start up a gallery with my best bits just for these forums . Oh and as most of you know, my work is 100% PDN, i never use renders/stock images..and if i was to i would clearly state along with the image.

First up is my rose, complete with its leaves (just for Welsh ). The leaf took me quite a while and was the first time i had ever used a couple of plugins/effects and im glad to say i shall use them again! frosted glass being one effect :). I simply duplicated the leaf and placed it in different places then shaded..its so dark because i wasnt very confident (im terrible with leaves ). Hope you like?

Image

Next up is my grass! a few of you have had the pdn of this but unfortunately its lost now because my dad decided to do a 'clean up' of the pc and lost all my old pdn's..luckily i had my rose and my latest projects on my laptop aye?

Image

First picture was stage 1 (a sketch of eyes i did) and second is the final stage (to see wips of eyes look on official forum gallery).

Image

The image on the right was a painting of a flower i did in my sketch pad and left is a 100% interpretation of it, i made it darker because i think it makes the leaves have more depth..plus i think i over painted the pink  .

Image

Remember the left is pdn and the right is my sketch/painting - more of which i shall be posting if i get a positive response

Thats all for now, i shall only be putting up my best pieces here but on the official forums i shall post everything i make which i see as being good :)

 Wow! First time I have seen the rose with leaves and I have to say I was stunned at the realism. That and the grass make for an awesome pair of images. Look forward to seeing more of your work.

im really glad you like it. i was SO nervous that my i was going to fluff up the leaves but i think they turned out quite well. Even though they arn't exactly detailed i think they help bring out the rose. I have to say i am borderline which is my fave now, grass or rose? *drum role*

great job nemo on those leaves.

now for a bit of soft critique. on the rose you used some gradiants various shades of the rose hue. on the grass you used various shades of green. and yellows. maybe the leaves could use just a touch more variation in colors to make them appear even more realistic. other than the shadow getting cut off this is one darn fine amazing awesome magnificent rose with " yummy leaves"

ciao OMA

Stunning detail in that rose. If work a little bit with the leaves, it will be beautiful. Seem like everybody is "blossoming" with ideas lately. :D

Nemo, I don't know if you are aware of this, but there's a couple of users who think you have used photographs and then passed it off as 100% PDN. I did challenge them in your gallery (hope I didn't break any rules, Ash) to back it up, so I think you may have to defend your piece or something.

Just let nemo answer them, there is no need to challenge anybody or anything.

i have posted up a huuge comment in my gallery on the official forums, thankyou everyone for your support but like i said to ash in pms, we agree i should take it as a compliment and simply make more realistic pieces that are not seen in photographs etc often. That way they can see that i am tellnig the truth.

Oma i have had it all wiped out at the moment but you keep them for now its fine, if it does get out of hand i think i should just move to these forums where i can get soft critisism for my work (the whole reason i joined - to further my pdn knowledge) rather than people jsut trying to slate me randomly without any evidence whatsoever

Thankyou all for your comments, i am really glad some of you like my work, its better than none
