Latest work includes some fixes edit Jan 3 2010 I received quite a few comments re jaggies. They would have evened out in the intended final smaller size but they were annoying even in this work piece. So I've blurred out as many as I could no easy task on a flattened image at one and two pixel wide selections. so if I missed any let me know exactly where and if possible I'll get them fixed. IF POSSIBLE... also for the little ray of sunshine that asked for a Tiara sorry not this image but I did add some sparkles to the head piece just for you. I jazzed up the shoe as that was another area that needed some work. shiny shoe with a flower now. sorry the table has to stay this way,,,too many cuts to adjust flattened picture. and yes I did lighten the gown just a bit so the shading in the dress that took me ages shows more. and I also turned back on the layer where I lightened the hand on the chair. ************************************ this is one of my favourite abstracts Whispers

I hope that you will be able to put in your latest work in here. I think that Ben will fall out of his chair.

800 pixels wide is the size restrictions on the tutorial forums. I don't think we need to be that strict for people's personal galleries, as long as it's reasonable, or you put a warning for huge images. (We're rather laid back here, generally we add rules on an as-needed basis, and I can't imagine Oma misbehaving so much as to warrant a rules change. ) And I'll beat Ash's "Age of Japan" score yet!

You know, I did not understand why there was a background of tiling pink elephant until I went to the other forum, and saw what you posted. Thanks for the pink elephant. I have to say that I am very impressed with how you went from a photograph, to sketch, to the hourly-long work of transforming the elephant into that final picture. I commend you for a job well done. I have one request: could you post your hummingbird picture here?

thanks Ben I'm looking at it again and think perhaps I should maybe twist that right side up wards so the little soul/circle is more in line with those orangishrays might work might not. will give it a try.

Oma, I think that is absolutely gorgeous. I love the milky pink color and the way everything swirls from one side outward.

thanks I just tried swivelling it but its not going to retain the image the way I want. so its has to stay this way.
I didn't write any of this down or keep track but I do recall most of that swirl effect. there is splinter that background on lighten I did a tube oblique before splintering and there was oilpaint before the oblique other than that I didn't even think about what I was putting in there. I usually doodle on paper when I'm chatting on the phone this was doodling on the computor as I listened to music ( Sarah Brightman's albumn..... don't ask me why but I was playing her Christmas albumn in July.)
I Know I used polar inversion way over and off the edge upper left corner and that made those lovely rays on the upper top left.
duplicated the layer then pulled in the top corner over and down to the right. then polarinversion again. that gave that rounded off edge that swirls to the right side. used eraser to get rid of that piddly little mess of tiny circles and eeny weeny images you get with polarinversion and covered the rest with a inside out layer. made real real tiny. .
ciao OMA

Great title and great image. I especially like the left hand side ... very, very serene; it looks like you just want to snuggle up in it <soft I know, but I don't care smiley !> The right hand side brings dolphins to mind ...
Love it.
