Post here if you need clarification on any of the rules, or if you have a problem with the rules or wording Rules wrote:The process works as follows: There is a thread called "Peoples' Choice Nominations". Say Goon likes one of Oma's images, Goon would post the image in the nominations thread, then Chad, who also likes the image, would second the nomination. Finally WelshBlue, who also likes the image, would also second the nomination. Welsh, being the third person to support the nomination (counting the person who first nominated it), would then add the image to the "Peoples' Choice Awards" thread along with a link to Oma's Gallery. RULES:Images in the galleria should both demonstrate exceptional artistic merit, and showcase the versatility of the Paint.NET program. A nominated image should do more than demonstrate a novel technique, but should show practical applications. Any image which uses stock, or outside images MUST properly cite its sources to be eligible. Images which are plagiarized, or infringe on copyright, are NOT eligible.
The Management reserves the right to veto any image at any time if we feel it does not meet the requirements above.
Anyone can have an image of theirs nominated, but as of 1/1/2010 only those who have reached 100 posts can nominate or second images. The rationale behind this is users should be established in the community before being given power (however limited) over that community.
It is possible for a person to rescind their support for an image before the image is inducted into the Peoples' Choice Awards thread, but not after. How to add images: In case it is not clear: Only images which have received a nomination and two seconds are to be added to the "Peoples' Choice Awards" thread, and then only the second person to second the image is to add it.The person responsible for adding the image should use the following template: - Code: Select all
[rightsize]IMAGE_URL_HERE[/rightsize] ATISTS_NAME_HERE
In addition, the poster should make sure to NOT ATTACH their signature to the post (uncheck the " Attach a signature (signatures can be altered via the UCP)" checkbox ), this is to make it easier for others to browse the images in the "Peoples' Choice Awards" thread.

The rules state that all stock photos used have to be added. But what if someone was to have an image nominated that was made some time ago that used stock images that they no longer have or can`t remember where they were from ? Also most images are just made for pleasure, not for specific nomination. So some stocks might not be kept as they would be surplus to requirements once the image is completed. How would this affect a nomination? Would it prevent that image from being added?

Properly citing stock images involves linking to the original source of the images. You don't actually need to keep or post a copy. So this rule could mean that some older images are disqualified, which is unfortunate.
However there are legal reasons for this rule. If someone does not properly cite a photograph, and the copyright owner of that photograph decides to throw a fit, it could be construed as a violation of FreeForums terms of service if we are promoting such an image. Violating terms of service is the fastest way to get our forum deleted.

I probably will wait for the weekend when I have more time to look through things. I'm so very tired right now.
I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
