I can't upload a photo to my profile on the main board. I'm within the parameters, pic size is 150 x 150 and is 16,233 bytes. I looked at Barbieq's photo (she's so cute ) which is 112 x 150 and is 19,233 bytes. So what is this dumb blonde doing wrong

I'm in the "change photo" area of my profile .... but, of course, there is no photo to change, as I never put one up before But I guess this is where you add it to start with? When I use the browse option to get the photo from my computer, it tells me I am trying to upload too large of a photo. I even tried to upload the 'teeniest' thing ...... with the same result. I have posted over on the other board as well. Any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong, please. Many thanks

I think some people did ask that about the main board, Pixey. If I remember correctly, when the main board was first revamped we had that option but now it has been disabled. I could be wrong but I am hoping that Pyro or EER will point you in the right direction.

I doubt that you have done anything wrong.

Thanks Barbieq - Sargon posted on the main board that the option to add a photo has been "blocked" by Rick Brewster! Wouldn't it have been nice, and helpful, if that could be made clear when one tries, and tries, and tries to add it in the profile area. A simple explanation ..... instead of repeatedly being told that the photo you are trying to add is too large. Sorry for the rant ....... but this nearly drove me crazy yesterday, as I knew the size I was trying to upload was OK.

aye they have removed the option because people were not putting their photos up there. I'm sure there were other issues leading to the removal of the feature as well. Might of been bandwidth, privacy issues, etc..etc..

It's too bad they have disabled the option, as I always like to be able to put a face to a name! I really think Rick should take his down, as the rest of us are not allowed

You could always use yours in your avvie. I've got mine up & a few others who got in quick when the forum first changed. Pity really. Maybe request the option turned back on? Do a search first to see what has been said about it. You don't want your head bitten off by an over-zealous mod in a bad mood.

Recently there has been a request for "reputation status" to be applied. One of the reasons cited was so that they would know whose advice to take on. I've put in my 2 cents. I think the mods have enough to do without adding that.

There was a thread too & I don't recall whether it was here on the other board for people to post images of themselves. I see you have one on DA. You've very pretty & just how I imagined you.

I'm not sure I want to bring up the subject of the profile photos on the main board though. And having, like Rick, a photo as an avvie is a bit OTT I wonder if that's his photo? But, they may change their minds one day. I remember when I first signed on at PDN I didn't realize that I'd put my name in the 'user name' area and, when I requested to change it, Rick came on board to say NO way. Anyhooooooo, about a year or so later I commented on the inability of changing one's user name and a mod (I think it was BoltBait) said that the rule had now been relaxed and it was OK to do so. I decilined at that point, as I'd had my name up for so long by then.

Hope you are having a great w/e. I am battling with a paintshop tut and am experiencing horrendous jaggies .......... Argh!
